The Criminal Investigations Division (CID) of the Greenbrier Police Department is responsible for investigating serious, complex, and felony-level crimes occurring within the Town of Greenbrier. CID detectives conduct thorough, legally sound investigations with the goal of identifying offenders, protecting victims, and ensuring cases are prepared for successful prosecution.
Our Mission
The mission of the Criminal Investigations Division is to professionally investigate criminal activity, uphold the law, and enhance public safety through integrity, diligence, and accountability while maintaining the trust of the community we serve.
Scope of Investigations
CID handles cases that require advanced investigative expertise, including but not limited to:
- Narcotics trafficking and drug-related offenses
- Firearms and weapons violations
- Violent crimes against persons
- Financial crimes and fraud
- Complex property crimes
- Death investigations and suspicious circumstances
- Crimes involving digital and electronic evidence
Although much of CID’s work occurs behind the scenes, community cooperation is essential to successful investigations. The Criminal Investigations Division values public trust and encourages citizens to report criminal activity or provide information that may assist ongoing or future investigations.
