Job Openings

Job vacancies for all departments in the city are posted on our website, at City Hall, and at the various departments throughout the city. All applications for job openings must be filled out and returned to City Hall by the posted deadline.

Employment 

Employees are trained regularly on job specific skills, and some employees earn certification in their areas of responsibility by obtaining advanced educational credits or licenses.

Employees of the City of Greenbrier serve in a probationary status for the first ninety days of employment. During this period, employees are trained and tested to determine whether they will become full-time employees.

Holidays

Employees receive 13 paid holidays throughout the year.

Vacation Days

Employees earn 1 week of vacation (40 hours) after the first year of employment. Vacation leave accrues on a graduated schedule based on years of service.

Sick Leave

Employees earn 8 hours of sick leave per month.

Health & Dental Insurance

The city offers health and dental insurance for employee and family.

Life Insurance

The city provides $35,000 of term life and AD&D insurance for all employees.

Retirement

Retirement benefits are with the State of Tennessee's retirement plan (TCRS).
