Job vacancies for all departments in the city are advertised in the weekly newspaper. All applications for job openings must be filled out and returned to City Hall by the posted deadline.

Employees of the City of Greenbrier serve in a probationary status for the first ninety days of employment. During this period, employees are trained and tested to determine whether they will become full-time employees.
Once an employee has completed the 90 day probation, the following benefits provided by the city become available:
Employees receive 13 paid holidays throughout the year.
Employees earn 1 week of vacation (40 hours) after the first year of employment. Vacation leave accrues on a graduated schedule based on years of service.
Employees earn 8 hours of sick leave per month.
Health & Dental Insurance
The city offers health and dental insurance for employee and family.
The city provides $35,000 of term life and AD&D insurance for all employees.
The city pays 100% of the retirement for employees. The vesting period is five years. Retirement benefits are with the State of Tennessee's retirement plan (TCRS).
